3449 MASON HALL - As of October 2013, the University of Michigan administration decided to impose a mandatory dress code for female students.
Although it won’t be enforced until November, girls everywhere are already dressing the part. The new wardrobe rules require girls to wear black leggings, combat boots, and oversized sweaters to every class.
Surprisingly, the change has garnered little controversy. Monica, LSA sophomore, doesn’t mind the major transition because her wardrobe literally contains nothing else. “I’m a little upset that I won’t be able to wear my converse to class when November comes, but it will be cold then anyways.”
Other girls have been overheard elaborately planning on purchasing several more Lulu Lemon leggings to add to their already existing 17 pair collection. “It’s a great reason for my parents to buy me more clothes!” elaborated School of Engineering Junior, Debbie. “And maybe I will finally fit in.”
Males around campus definitely aren’t complaining. “I’m surprisingly refreshed with this new dress code in force for girls,” stated Jeremy, Ross senior. “Taking what already works, it genius! I can’t wait to check out the new leggings!”
